Taj Mahal Fine Foods

A trailblazer for South African food in Sydney. Vina Pillay and her son Dhiren, from Durban, changed the focus of their bakery to South African food and products in 1995. Since then they have been thrilling the taste buds of expats and locals throughout Sydney and Australia. Delicious curries, breyanis, samoosas, rotis, dhal, biltong and boerwors are prepared each week. In addition, they import a wide range of foods to satisfy the homesick Southern African. Mealie meal, samp, Tastic rice, Ouma rusks, soft drinks, meebos, tinned fruit, jams, spices, biscuits and many other specialties are piled high in their shop. As well as food, they import a wide range of hair products. Their products are available from the shop as well as the Fox market(Weds), Bondi Junction market(Fri), Orange Grove market(Sat), Frenchs Forest market(Sun) and the monthly Pyrmont and North Sydney markets. Samoosas and Curry Rotis are served up at Telstra Stadium major events and catering is also available.
